Adding Your NMLS Number
Display your NMLS number in the borrower portal and on exported documents.
Your NMLS number (or state license number) can be displayed in the borrower portal footer and on the cover sheet of exported document packages. This is a common compliance requirement and signals legitimacy to borrowers.
This is a Starter and Pro feature. Go to Settings → Branding to configure it.
The NMLS / License Line field
The field is labeled NMLS / License Line in the Branding form. It's a free-text field — you're not limited to just an NMLS number. Common formats include:
| Example | Use case |
|---|---|
NMLS #123456 |
Federal NMLS ID |
NMLS #123456 · CA DBO #12345 |
Multiple license numbers |
Licensed in CA, TX, FL · NMLS #123456 |
State disclosure |
NMLS #123456 · Equal Housing Lender |
Combined disclosure |
Enter whatever text is required for your compliance disclosure. There's no validation on format — the exact text you enter is displayed as-is.
Where it appears
Borrower portal footer
The NMLS line appears at the bottom of the borrower portal on every page, below the document checklist. It's small and unobtrusive but visible — borrowers can see it without scrolling if the checklist is short.
Export cover sheet
When you export a loan file as a PDF or ZIP, the cover sheet includes the NMLS line. It appears in the footer area of the cover sheet alongside your company name.
It does not appear in the invitation email or in per-document views.
Saving
The NMLS line is saved as part of the main Branding form. Click Save Branding after entering your text. Changes appear immediately in the portal for borrowers who refresh — active sessions may need to reload to see the update.
Plan requirement
The NMLS / License Line field is locked on the Free plan. It appears grayed out with an Upgrade to Unlock link in the Branding form. Upgrading to Starter or Pro unlocks it.
